I have added a Pioneer SX410 to my growing pile of vintage equipment - see pics. My question is: the output valves are 6BM8 types. Not that they need replacement - unit sounds wonderful - but when the time comes, can these be replaced with ECL 82? Also in the pic is a Rogers HG88 mkIII amp with ECL86 output valves. I hear that these are very rare. Are there any more readily available equivalents? The amp plays but very softly and is noisy. All help appreciated. On the left a Sony TA1120, in the right hand side stack: Rogers HG88 mkIII, Pioneer KX440, Pioneer SX410 These are JBL C38 enclosures, with 075 HE bullet tweeters and D130 15 inch woofer. Unfortunately one of the woofers was replaced with a different drive unit. I recently replaced the grille cloth with some off-white hessian which looks more or less right for the period - c.1963. The look of these speakers are the only ones that meet my wife's approval....
