I remember I had a meeting with Monster cable representatives in our premier 'Full THX' demo room a while back except we did not use THX certified cable at the time. They insisted that THX cable would transform the system and take away the apparent harshness that was present. Of course, the harshness was manufactured out of thin air but still. The only pertinent factors with 'Full THX Certification' is the order/slope arrangement between speaker and receiver/processor, in my opinion. Everything else, from output to dispersion requirements are, to be honest, somewhat trivial, because non-THX certified systems can be just as capable. We stock Miller and Kriesel, Jamo and Klipsch Horn THX systems. :) Depends which M&K's you are comparing them to. At first listen, the M&K's might be perceived as being too 'bright' but there is no denying that they have an uncanny ability to extract the tiniest details from film soundtracks. They sound engaging for films. Music reproduction is decent but not stellar, in my opinion. M&K speakers, even the non-THX versions are capable of playing very loud with little apparent (or perceived) distortion but it's not so much their ability to play at cinematic levels that impresses me, it's their ability to remain clean sounding at spirited levels. If you would like a quote on M&K or Jamo THX systems please send me an email and we can discuss your options. Regards,
