Hi Spidey. Welcome to the forum! The THX certification comprises a great many things, including the speakers, amplification, etc, etc. For me personally the most important factor has to do with the amount of amplifier power and the ability of the speakers to handle that power to produce the required SPL levels. Does it make a difference? It makes it LOUD. I wouldn't say there is any benefit in buying a set of speakers that are specifically THX certified if the rest of your equipment don't match up in terms of the specification tho. So, the question is: If you have two AV amps (or sets of speakers for that matter), and the one is certified and the other is not. Will the certified one be better than the other? The answer is that nobody knows. You will have to listen to each and decide for yourself. Regards, Ian.
