[QUOTE="Blackjack, post: 216642, member: 13343"] The underfelt material is just an option at this stage as I am still feeling my way with this build and learning as I go along. Another option is offcut Sagex foam pieces cut into different size squares from 100mm to 30mm. Once the circular wall is boxed in with the welded mesh I thought of throwing all these different shapes in from the top until the 'cage' is full! I also thought that the round irregular laaintjies on the side walls would also deflect and break up a soundwave very efficiently, although I will add further treatment if necessary. Another reason for these materials is that the underfelt and sagex are free if I transport them from the factory, and that's the right price. ;D Vaughan this post is as much as a 'learning curve' for me and I know there are many others who will benefit from my experiences with this build. A build like this in a city would cost in excess of 300k but out here, I can do it for maybe 10% of that. On the farm I do most of everything myself, have to, or else I would have to pay someone else to do it.......and that is not an option. So planning is kept simple, building will be 'green', using local available materials. I will be harvesting all the rainwater off the roof, so my HT will increase my irrigation water as well, and solar panels on the roof will also increase our electricity and reduce our carbon footprint I would be grateful for any contributions/ideas from members (have already got ideas from a few members), What would you advise, if this was your build?
