Thanks for the willing input guys.....I'm already on a sharp learning curve.....Ha! Windshear most people put their audio setup in the lounge normally next to the tv.....and with all the ornaments and hard surfaces it's ok but never good. So I understand when u say optimise the room and I understand that the acoustics for HT are different to stereo however surely there is a way of switching off the HT and listening to your stereo in an acoustically friendly environment using you front floorstanders and maybe a sub! Pappa3 I wish I had R100k to build this room. We make our own M6 building blocks and do our own building here, so what would cost you R100k in the city, would probably cost me less than R30k using similar materials. I already have the beginnings of a stereo system which gives me 'gooseflesh' everytime I listen to it and I know that this quest of mine for the perfect (going to add the words 'and practical')'room and audio equipment does not have a budget as I will be buying, selling and repurchasing (like you have) until I die. I am constantly searching for excellence and although I heed your advice on setting a budget.....when does one stop wanting to improve...and it is very difficult not to 'nuture one's passion Music is my 'soulfood' and I want as much quality music as my ears can get before I die
