TIBTECH Electrical conductivity (10.E6 Siemens/m) Electrical resistivity (10.E-8 Ohm.m) Silver 62,1 1,6 copper 58,5 1,7 Gold 44,2 2,3 Aluminium 36,9 2,7 Not much difference between copper and silvers conductivity and resistance is there? Any doubts about expensive cables kindly re read Rotten Johnny's and Amp dogs posts carefully. At work we have some very expensive machinery, some of the components are very sensitive to electrical interference, some of the communication cables run 50m, the cables don't have exotic insulation and have single screening, not double, nor triple. They experience no electrical interference. On occasion the screening has dethatched from earth, then they have had interference problems. Simple electrical theory states that the thinner a cable is and the longer a cable is the higher the resistance shall be. Therefore to have least resistance to current flow you need shorter and thicker cables. So my honest answer is that expensive cables are an absolute waste of money.
