Yes, USB cables make a difference. Why ? I don't know...... :Ooooooh: On SOME DACS. on the dCS I had, every one sounded different. The 18 year old printer cable save me THOUSANDS :Whoohoo: But alas a Kimber came a destroyed it. But I can NEVER afford it On the iFi's their blue usb is damn good!! I know I knock my own product, but the iFi USB Mercury sounds the same my "reference" printer cable. But at $299.... maybe, yeah ok  , it looks super nice, real solid metal connectors. But not different. I made a USB set with very very expensive HDMI cable I had. Holy cow, it is soooo easy to hear on some dacs. :stop: It must have to do with error rate ? clocking ? Jitter ? Speed. Why cant a USB not be 10m, because it screws up the data, most devices dont even connect. So on a 1.5m the effect must still be there albeit 10x less ? Why make an 15m HDMI cable of $8000 ? Because it CAN be done at such length but RF, EMI and mouse farts must all be prevented from contaminating the signal  While maxing out at 10-20Gb/s Just some thoughts :2c:
