My Rotel dvd player loads discs in seconds, it is actually faster than a few cd players I've seen. Dvd players are convenient and the difference in sound quality is not always day and night compared to dedicated cd players. I still like and prefer cd's. It depends what type of music you listen to that will determine the price of cds. Commercial stuff that's pressed locally will be cheaper than imported. I'm used to pay double the amount for cd's than normal and think the average price of my collection is R200. Maybe its the nostalgia, but I enjoy smell of unwrapping an album, and going through the booklet/artwork. Oneday when I'm grown up I'll have a Linn LP12 and buy black frisbees.
