[QUOTE="antonsa, post: 1078298, member: 506"] I competed for a few years in Sound quality car audio (not to be confused with the folks with all their subwoofers and noise and test tones), and the objective in a SQ car is very much the same as us "audiophiles" aspire to in our lounges. In the last build I did which was a 01 5series, I had 3 way fully active front stage. 6" ported midbass tuned to 30hz with dedicated enclosures (enclosures built on door), 3" cone midrange drivers with their dedicated enclosures as well as 1" dome tweeters (very much hifi drivers). In the rear, I ran a 12w6v2 jl audio subwoofer in a large oversized 3cu-ft sealed enclosure, woofer cone INSIDE the car, some modification to the parcel shelf. with TrueRTA, the car measured down to about 17hz. and believe me you could feel it. I have a processor in the car, to get the sub bass to integrate perfectly with the midbass I had to very much make use of time alignment. In a small room (in this case the car), the wave repeats many many times, before "you hear" it.. this create a delay basically... but the sound is still there... and trust me, orchestral music, classical music, in that car was sublime. because all the details right down to the bottom was there. bass you could feel rather than hear.
