Don't get me wrong, I didn't say Tablette is better than R1sc, in fact, R1sc is better than Tablette in many way : Better HF & LF extension, better dynamic & punchy sound, better sound stage, play louder, better built, & much more beautiful design ( Those woofers are so pretty ) So, why did I say Tablet is more special to me? Well, if you like to play loud with all kind of music, R1sc is the better choice, but if you have a good quality SE valve amp and play at moderate volume in a small space, with some solo instrument ( piano or violin for example), their pure & clean mid range is second to none of all other boxed speakers I'd heard. They have a colourless & boxless sound that even the higher grade R1sc can't reach. And that's good enough for them to be special. ( but to be warned, they can be a pain to listen to if you give them wrong amplification - most solid state amps I'd tried failed, Naim Nait 5 is the only amp sounds good with Tablette, but not great.) BTW, A40 is quite similar to the HD5/7, I mentioned A40, because its sound full of fun & excitement, but only cost you very little. That's also a achievement.
