Without a doubt the Blu-ray disc is the last physical medium we will see. In years to come, people will laugh at us buying plastic discs and having to put them in a player to view. Computers and home entertainment will converge even more and everything in the house will stream to one another, so you will have one device which talks to all the other devices If you think about it, it makes so much sense to go this route. Also, the way hardware and software is going, when you buy a new device (eg: a TV) when you plug it in it will set itself up without any intervention from you, it will know your likes and dislikes from reading your list of titles, assign itself to all the other wireless devices in your house. It will send an audio signal wirelessly to your amp and speakers, you will speak to it to select what you want to see, adjust the volume, shut itself down (or it will do it by itself if you leave the room for a period). All this technology is here today and just needs refining to work. And best of all it is likely to cost less than it does today A while ago, people used to buy blocks of ice and place these in their pantries to keep the food fresh. This concept is as strange to us as our current entertainment systems of today will be to our children and grandchildren. Hopefully, they won't listen to MP3s and think it is ok
