Wow,but this was a laborious thread to work through ;) You get people who refuse to change(or see another's) point of view, that's a fact of life. Would I buy two A500s and use them in monoblock configurations? Probably not although there was a stage that I did think about it. However after some discussions with the Behringer people it seemed like it may not be a good idea to use these amps in a home environment due to its design being for Studio use(non-bridged) and that I quote from Behringer. Its not that the A500 is a bad amplifier, but their recommendation was that if I wanted to use these amps, I should rather consider them to drive passive subs. However one of our members once bought an A500 to drive a passive sub and for the hell of it connected the amplifier in place of his Krell power amp and based on his report back, he was quite impressed by the performance. What it really boils down to, is if you want to spend the money with the possiblity of considering it a throw away, then by all means do that. There is always the possibility that you like what you hear and that is the most important factor, not what anyone else thinks ;)
