Hi guys, hope someone can help answer a few questions.
I have an Apple music subscription, and am using it as a hi res lossless solution in a few ways. In my main system from an ipad to a cck camera connector into a Rega dacR ucb input. This works very well.
In my braai room, from an iphone into cck connector into an iFi Zen dac via usb. Also works very well.
Now, onto my main question.
I have an Apple TV 4K connected to a Samsung Q60R TV via HDMI. Now I know Apple TV only outputs lossless, not hi res, and the optical out to the Rega confirms this as only the 48k light on the dac lights up.
But if I should want to add a Tidal app to the Apple TV with a hi res subscription, will the Apple Tv hdmi output support this, and will the optical out on my Samsung be able to support the hi res format?
I guess my main question is, can I rely on the Samsung not to degrade or alter the digital signal? I only care about two channel play of course, no other multi channel applications.
