This player is commonly refered to as the 1600, not the 1600A. You have to agree, as even in a post that you started (http://www.avforums.co.za/index.php/topic,3437.0.html), you refered to it as a BDP1600 without the 'A'. Imagine someone like my dad (or anyone else that is not keeping up with the cutting edge of technology) had this problem, who has no idea what the word 'firmware' means, let alone have the ability to download a 72meg file, unzip it, copy it to a flashdrive and do the update. The other two ways to do the update would have been to download the .iso and cut it to CD (even more involved), or update via LAN (assuming you have a convenient network point with a stable internet connection within reach of your Bluray player). There should have been some warning or disclaimer before downloading. I've heard that some manufacturers ask for a serial number to download a firmware update to make sure this very thing does not happen. Curious Ben, does the YouTube feature work on your BD player? Mine doesn't, although it might be an Iburst issue.
