I've tried all the settings I can think of on the amplifier - and as I say, it worked with the current settings and cables on my old TV. I simply unplugged the old, and plugged in the new. I've tried take to every HDMI port on the TV (1-4) with the same result. Also, the Xbox 360 and TViX both work perfectly on HDMI. I am guessing a handshake issue too :( I will try your idea tonight - but I *think* I may have tried it a year back. The issue then was that the DVD player wouldn't output sound via optical/coaxial when the HDMI was in use ie disabled all other ports. So it was HDMI or nothing- and there's be no way feeding sound to the amplifier. If I can't get it fixed, I'd be looking at selling my DVD player and buying a PS3 slim instead :/ Any idea what a Marantz DV7600 would fetch now?
