I have the small 1.6Kva Gentech. It's through a changeover switch and I can run my fridge, 2 TV's, hifi, wifi, lights ( all LED ) computer etc and it only uses about 50% of its capacity. 3 litre tank lasts 2 bouts of 2.5 hour shedding. I recon the Mac Afric would do a similar job. Just keep an eye on the oil level and use a good oil. I use Motul 10w 60 . Still the cheapest way to have power on demand. We were out for 27 hours not long ago. Running the genny on and off kept the freezer contents save and kept our sanity fairly intact. Those with small UPS's didn't have a chance. They are also a problem when there's double shedding and not enough time to recharge before the next bout.
