[QUOTE="XL1000, post: 1131730, member: 14393"] I really appreciate the insights in the thread. I would love to say I have the ability to change lifestyle to fit in with the energy supply ability of a lower model but truth be told, I have a wife and daughter who are not wanting to change their habits or lifestyle. I know right! So, if in load-shedding my daughter decides to popcorn, start up the air-fryer, and then walk to the bedroom to finish drying her hair, I can't have the system tripping as I run backup servers that mirror at home with all my company finances and records on that update realtime. I run mechanical timers so if there is no power the time loss and the schedule of the pool motor are then not the same. There is probably a workaround for this but finding the time to make all the scheduling work to match the limited output ability of a 5KVA inverter is not something I am ready to try to accomplish. I would rather it just carry the whole load at any given time. Where I can see myself falling short is the number of batteries needed to supply all will be way higher and then the number of panels needed to charge the batteries in the day will be proportionately more. So, I'll take a loan, plan to repay over 60 months, and be done with it. As it is I've decided to let go of my K1600GT as the monthly installment and cost of insurance will cover the solar installations repayments. R7K a month should be adequate to start with. Probably pay off the loan in 50 months or so. my issue now is finding an installer in Roodepoort that is not intent on ripping us off. Help with a referral in my area would be greatly appreciated.
