If you like punch in the sound I can recommend trying out some planar magnetic headphones, maybe some Audeze's. I don't think the newer Hifiman's have as much punch as the older models. I run my older Hifiman planars off a stereo amplifier and they slam quite well and they have a presentation that is more speaker like, but it falls far short of speaker technicalities like staging. Higher end Grado's like the SR325s are also quite punchy and very open sounding so maybe you can consider a higher model Grado model as well if you like the SR80X. I've never found the HD6XX series from Sennheiser to be that punchy. Their closed cans are quite punchy, but I've haven't found one that I quite liked the tonality of. For airy sounding headphones you won't beat a Stax, but they might not quite fulfil your bass needs, but what there is is quite nice and they have quite nice layering and staging so I think they are much better when it comes to technicalities. They will give you a feeling of being more in a crowd with that lit up atmosphere that a good valve amplifier provides you. Speaker and headphone punch are quite different, but some planar headphones do an admirable job.
