For Circulation to all MultiChoice DStv Accredited Installers
25th March 2020
Dear Sirs,
MULTICHOICE ? COVID-19 UPDATE
Multichoice fully supports the measures announced by President Cyril Ramaphosa in an attempt to curb the COVID 19 pandemic. We have been advised that all shops and businesses will be closed except for those that provide essential services.

The categories of people exempt from this, in areas of society that are deemed as critical in helping government to assist in managing this crisis. The first categories that must remain open namely health care, emergency personnel, security services and those that supply food services, have been identified by the Presidency.
The next category of exempted people are critical in ensuring that the country continues to run, even in times of turmoil. These include enabling banking services, the maintenance of power and water, as well as telecommunications services, that includes TV broadcasting support services and its associated customer services.
Our role as a business is very important in continuing to provide information; to the millions of people who are now compelled to be at home, but critically, accurate news information to ensure people that government is able to disseminate information to the citizens of South Africa, quickly and effectively.

As an important partner in providing Customer Services for our broadcasts, it is our request that all DStv Accredited Installers continue carry out both new Installation
and maintenance work for existing customers over the lock-down period
, starting midnight Thursday 26th March for the period of 21 days. MultiChoice naturally encourages the strict implementation of COVID-19 Hygiene guidelines appropriate for such operations as already communicated by the Connected Service Department.

MultiChoice intends to issue a letter of confirmation as a TV Broadcaster enabling service partner, which will provide more certainty you as a business. Letters for staff members working will also need to be arranged, with a format to be suggested in due course.

We recognise and appreciate the critical work that you provide MultiChoice. Your efforts are what will keep us and our customers informed and knowledgeable, at time when they need it most.
Should you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact me.
Yours Sincerely,
Justin Shaw
