Okay so I'm still rambling on about this topic. Sorry! I have a new idea for one last layer of protection... what I have 'almost' decided on is to get a smaller UPS for my HD PVR and PS3 only. This means I will take these components off my APC voltage regulator and they will run off the UPS, which I imagine is much more suitable; when power is actually lost, the "computer" components won't be suddenly shut down - I know the PVR hates this and is what I believe kills the hard drive. I want to do this before swapping out my HD PVR, which is really overdue. I am really tired of power cycling it all the time because of the stoopid blue hard drive error message on screen (takes up considerable screen space). Now unlike my 2000VA Powercom Black Knight Pro which I bought for my computer goodies, I should be able to splash out on an APC since it won't have to have such a high rating, or so I hope. What do you okes think will be an appropriate size? 600VA? And is line interactive okay?
