I had a more entry level Onkyo, a TX NR515 in 2012. I now have older Yamaha RXV 659 and it lacks allot of features the TX NR515 had and ofcoarse doesnt have the 8 HDMI inputs but sounds way better and pairs better with My MA bronze and plays my friends MA silvers really nicely too, better that his Onkyo TXNR 905 does. My experience, but I wont go back to Onkyo again in a hurry, nothing wrong with them but so far for every Onkyo I have heard, there is a Yammie that does it better...EXCEPT for Yamaha's RXV3**series, those are horible things IMO. Maybe I just like their "sound signature". I heard a 50w p/ch marantz the other day and that also sounds quite good, exceeded my expectations quite a bit.
