Hi Kay Tryed it out and the 1080p upscaling doesn't work well. The main reason is the source info (DVD). The 720p mode works well, doesn't cause as much dot crawl and image artifacts as the 1080p. I have been checking out some 1080p projectors and have tested loads of players on these projectors. Interesting thing, the two projectors we used have a source information window which gives you info on resolution, frequency etc. The info displayed said 1080i, 50Hz. May be the actual DVD disc causing this or maybe this player can only output 1080p with certain setups or sources ???? But the real magic image was HD. We connected a Toshiba HD-A1 HD DVD player and the Denon to the projector (has two HDMI inputs) and ran Apollo 13 HD-DVD and SD version, and the image quality is mind-blowing. The 1080p info from the HD-DVD disc makes the projector come alive. Hard to explain in words, but the Denon looked like VCR quality compared to the HD-DVD player - WOW!! Cheers
