I cancelled DSTV effective 1 April.
Needed something to watch in the evenings at bed time. The DSTV choice was CI, lovely droning monotone narrators on many of the series..... - better than a sleeping pill.
Enter Netflix - got it up and running on Monday & last night after a bit of searching found a series that seemed to fit the bill.
Started on episode 1 of series 1, and it worked like a charm - asleep in 15 minutes.
TV switches itself off after 30 minutes, never had to worry about the DSTV decoder, it was on permanently.
Alas the WD Media Player has no "sleep" function - but not to worry, 1 episode & Netflix will stop & the player will turn off after 3 hours of inactivity.
Or not.
Awoke at just after 02h00 to see the media player network connection light still flashing away merrily. Switched on the TV - episode 8 was starting! 12Gb of data used in an evening
Google is my friend - account settings, options, switch off the "play next episode automatically" option
Chop of the day for today is....... Trompie
