Hi all,

I've posted this in the "Trusted Repairer/Tweaker database" thread but thought I'd post here for more visibility.
Hope you don't mind.

I'm looking for a tech in Johannesburg or Pretoria.

I have an old-ish (late 80s) amplifier that needs a bit of work.
The amp was serviced a few months ago. The tech cleaned pots and re-soldered dry joints.

Currently, on start up, there's no sound unless turning volume quickly back and forth to over 4.
Once playing, right channel plays very low, very little bass
It improves somewhat after a few minutes, but it remains lower than the left channel.
Adjusting bass using the knob sometimes makes right channel play better, bit of crackle.

After a while, or if playing a bass heavy song (low frequencies), I get distortion (on both speakers) if I turn bass to full. This regardless of equalizer settings.
If turn bass knob even slightly lower, distortion stops.

Not sure if the speakers and crossovers playing a role.
