That speaks to two of my concerns regarding entering tape machine ownership - willing and able service people and availability of spare parts. I understand that it is easier to get spare parts for certain machines and that some are more reliable than others, but with my currently limited experience I don't know which machines are the ones to look out for. If you ever sell your tc630 let me know please as it may be good to have an extra machine on hand for spare parts - I'll do the same if I decide to sell mine. I heard this morning that my tc630 has been to the Netherlands and Malawi, it even has a battle scar on the wooden casing from once falling off a luggage trolley on the airstrip. The Sony PRS-2121 is "interesting" indeed. Very plasticky. The advertising photo for the complete system has made me nauseous once or twice, but the control unit looks a bit better when not paired with it's matching loudspeakers. I tend to prefer the aesthetics of silverface hi-fi equipment from the late sixties and seventies, as I'm sure most others do. I'd like to have a multitrack cassette recorder, as the Tascam 246 and Fostex 280 below, but this "Sony Music Gym", as it's also called, is a good step in between. Tascam 246 Fostex 280 More internet photos of the Sony Music Gym (http://audioidiots.com/merk.apparaat.php?apparaatID=358).
