Background I omitted to give. We've been recording our Sunday messages at church on cell phones. We've use a ring light and the room itself is lit fairly well. We've also used a cheapie but effective Boya 3.5mm lapel microphone to the cellphone for the audio. It is much better than a cell phone's audio pickup for sure. I'm considering making online teaching videos and investigating budget equipment that is at least better that a cell phone and the Boya 3.5mm mic and the ring light. Budget is around R3000-5000 max. Since the current setup has worked surprisingly well, I'm looking to spend a little more for a improved quality, without breaking the bank. If that works, I'll put a little more money into things - if the whole attempt works. Don't want to sink too much money into something until I've also actually recorded a few videos (hope my fascination doesn't wear thin). Recording will mainly be in an indoors room which is fairly quiet, but we do have the occasional dog barking and car revving as it drives by.
