My Media PC has the following specs: - E8400 Core2 Duo CPU - 2GB RAM - 4650 Ati VGA with HDMI - Hauppage MCE remote receiver - Windows 7 - Windows Media Centre - CCCP Codec pack There is no media stored on this machine. Everything gets streamed off the PC in my study (gonna change this to a NAS though, study PC just draws too much power to be on 24/7) on a 1Gb network. It actually works really, really well. The cool thing is that the ATI VGA cards have proper support for audio over HDMI and this works great as well. Currently, I'm not doing any GPU .h264 accelleration as the VGA card is a little basic for that. But, I've been streaming 1080p Blu Ray videos and the CPU is maybe using 10%, so not much point in that. I've got the Hauppage remote as well, but I only needed the MCE receiver that came with it. I control the whole setup using my Logitech Harmony remote. I've said it many times here, but the Harmony remote is one of the best bits of kit I've got, purely for being able to integrate all the bits together to work as one system.
