Context here is any speaker that can reproduce low frequency 'properly' could be the correct word is regarded as 'real-estate' -obviously because of weigh & high power requirement yet super expensive particularly in ZA for us.
Why is this, well i'm trying learn by example from someone i know they spent R118K exVAT on a pair of speakers (2x $4000) 2x 26Kg that have 2x 7" drivers ported that produce the LF.
This same brand offer identical config with 2x 10" is 2x 73kg (2x $8000) now becomes R450 000 rond -does this sound correct? [are active monitors is 3x ICE amps 1x Class-AB 50W for ribbon tweeter / ADSP- SHARC is AES3 driven, digital speakers]
In Europe & America's is free delivery on these items, to 'rub it in'
Considering should you discover what M&K goes for in ZA may be considered reasonable...?
*Would two of these M&K 12+ x-series be overkill for 50cubic meter area? -rhetorical for audioheads.
Why am i farting around looking at DB1D's unless i can get one or two 2nd hand or buy original B&W parts/12" drivers x4 is still a pain to build bins etc.
