Byrd , gonna retire the meridians for a while - maybe the 2nd gen Ergo comes out with SPDIF out and then I can use it on them? The head out is meant to be a straight monitor of what comes in - dunno why they used another DAC - sure sounds good tho . Hi - No remote volume - the unit is really meant to be used at a mixing desk - I have mine right next to my listening chair on a side table - along with a logitech touch ..easy to flip music and even easier to flip between focus and global and bypass mode or twiddle the huge lit vol knob. Knob works by digitally controlling analog resistance values - its sort of makes the chip step values so there is a constant SN ratio unl;ike digital which would truncate and lower Sn ratio as well as give rise to truncation distortion.... Considering the Ergo has 1/4" headphone jacks as its output , all you do to go single ended is use those 1/4" to RCA adaptors and then go normal interconnects if you dont have XLR - but my KRK's and ATCs are both XLR input and I have a few 5/10m xlr to 1/4" cables for them and the sub. Thanks for the offer tho.
