^^ yes, so I have now been told. HOWEVER, my thoughts are also going here... Having an "extra subject" will admittedly take a lot of dedication, opposed to doing it in school time. She is a busy bee as it is (first team sports, dancing etc) Also, I'd be REEAAALLYYY pissed if I buy a state of the art PC (she only has a small laptop right now) and associated software for her to throw in the towel a year later "because it's not fun". (something I would not really have to do initially if she takes it at school, only from the second year on I suppose) On the up side If She DOES love it: 1) and took IT/delphi... I can also sign her up for Java or the like IN ADDITION. This would benefit school and future but would make each "easier" . If it becomes too much effort she can put Java/C++ on hold without implicating school, whilst delphi will still "develop her mind".. But she might loose hospitality. 2) if she takes CAT and java/C++ extra, She will have the best of both worlds. BUT - Whilst the extra effort will be worth it, if she DOES NOT COPE, she would have to drop java/C++ and then only be stuck with CAT. She could again pick up IT as an extra later, and she would have hospitality. But she would loose a year or 2 in "mind development"
