So I got a call from Matrix today, and since I had the time while driving, I humoured them & listened to their pitch. Effectively, they offered me all sorts of bells and whistles (a live-tracking app, 2x new tracking devices in the car, panic button, etc) for R159pm (36 month contract). I've been with Tracker since 2012, am on the most basic Retrieve option, and can just call in to track a stolen car (none of the bells & whistles), for R155pm (month to month at this point). Switching would need to be a significant value proposition (for which the 36 month tie-in to a new contract is a point against Matrix). As I'd also need to go through cancelling the Tracker, taking the car to have the Matrix fitted (and the Tracker uninstalled?), updating details with Insurance etc... And who has much time or energy for any of that nowadays... Any thoughts from our esteemed & experienced members? Tracker or Martix significantly better? Why? Or are both terrible, and it's worth switching to XYZ tracking company for similar cost, but much better cos ABC? Thanks in advance!
