I have insurance my audio equipment (specified / photos / serial number) and thought everything was great.

A few weeks ago my Emotiva processor called it quits during the on/off with load shedding and I wasn't too worried, as it was covered. Insurance asked for a damage report etc - so I got Emotiva technical support to draft that although they cannot test the unit, it is obsolete with no spare parts for any repairs. However, insurance requires a damage report as well.

The issue I'm having is that the local supplier isn't willing to help (though, they'll gladly take my insurance money so I can buy the replacement). A few other places have said they feel it is beyond their scope - so insurance is waiting and no one is too happy to assist me .

Anyone here had something similar where the product isn't local ?
How have your claims gone and what was requested ?
