I cannot recall whether the Ortophon 320 has an elliptycal stylus. That affects the anti-skate setting. Also, just to make matters nicely complex, some cartridges specify a spread of stylus pressures e.g. 1,3 - 1,9 gm. (not aware of the figure for the 320). That spread would certainly change the rake angle significantly more than any practical tone arm height adjustment. Setting all this up without an intermodulation analyser only on hearing would depend quite a bit on what type of programme is played. Good luck there! Jamster, you have what you need, so perhaps just for the future. Do not go overboard on replacing phono-stage pre-amps! The multi thousand Rand ones I have seen the circuits of are not sonically (what a wonderfully definitive word) better than stuff 30% of the price. This can be one piece of electronics where improvements are "all in the mind." Also, while Croak has correctly stated that an improved power supply will benefit some units (I am not fimilair with the Cambridge), that will not help for others simply because they have regulators built in. You can replace a 10W supply with a kilo-W one; as long as the regulator can manage not a dime of purpose is served. But one needs a circuit diagram to judge unless you measure on the unit itself. With this I am not unduly conservative, just trying to save you from investing in snake oil instead of records.
