[QUOTE="chipwelder, post: 97803, member: 54"] Ringradiator: Some stupid Vifa/Scanspeak tweeter that looks like a spike and sounds like one too... Many people like it, I like my tweeters playing down low... this one doesn't Shucks id did forget the plasma, but that tweet you have to build yourself... it is like a lightening bolt, or an arcwelder, just more tuneful and it also creates ozone... not very efficient... O ja... a cost no object mid can be 500USD if you look at Backes en thiel, or accuton, the tweets a bit less, the woofers more. You REAALLY have to know your stuff to make it sound better than a 200USD mid... even a 100USD mid. Bang for buck in the upper end is that scanspeak group buy that Xumbug did a while ago... Unless the room is very large, these will be all you need. It will get much more complex than that if you want more. Honestly if i didn't have a large room, I'd build a 6-7" +1" / 1.75" two-way large stand mounter, with a really well-built box, and spend the next two-years getting the X-O just right - design and componentry. Music wise this is brilliant and the box construction is attainable... look at the Rockport Merak, the Wilson Watt, the Chario Academy to see what a well-built cost no object standmounter can look like.
