[QUOTE="kinosfronimos, post: 997242, member: 14190"] So, as much as I prefer buying through this forum, I've found a possible AVR for sale through a private Gumtree sale. I'm happy to go view the unit (with a friend), as the seller seems legit (none of the usual suspicious-seller markers). However when asking if/how I could test/demo it before buying, the seller said, they are selling on behalf of their parents, and they only have "some speakers" i.e. not a whole HT setup. They did say I could bring what I needed to test it with - but that's not going to happen (TV, source, 5.1 speakers = not happening). How do I go about testing/demo'ing in this case? HDMI working? No amplification issues? Whatever else is NB (taking suggestions here too) Etc etc. Alternatively, what do I reasonably propose with regard to payment if I took the unit home to test?
