So far as I can make out, nobody has yet asked the obvous questions: Is that smell new? Do you get it with any other similarly 'powered' music? How can clipping/overload of that intensity occur without the listener being aware of gross distortion? How long after the start of the music does the smell reach you? Voice coils and such do heat up, but by the time that smell gets to the outside world, I would say the driver has had it - think of the route out: Out of the driver from inside the enclosed magnet structure, out through a loudspeaker cabinet? (Is it a ported enclosure?) First time I heard of drivers smelling before having gone west.
