Per the dealer's request, it is being sent back tomorrow: "It is unfortunate that the test did not resolve the issue. We will need to check/assess the unit through our service centre. We have the utmost of faith in our products and will gladly exchange or refund should a product warrantees or assurances not be met. As per your communication the unit was functioning suitably until the software update was done. The unit was also on demo in our showrooms and never exhibited any problems or issues. We would thus gladly want the unit collected in order to determine the fault/flaw." My concern is that this seems to be a soft/firmware issue, which I doubt they can fix, because as NAD said in their email: "NOTE that Factory Resets, BluOS Factory Reset, and BluOS Resets will never roll back your installed firmware versions. Factory Reset's are used to reset user configurable settings back to default values." That, right there, goes against every good software development principle - you should ALWAYS be able to rollback to a previous working version, even if it has to be done manually. For example, Cambridge Audio was troubleshooting an issue with my CXR200 a few months ago, and they made earlier firmware version available to me so that we could test where the upgrade branch went wrong. I will report back once they have tested it.
