I learnt to drive at age 11/12 in the 505 which had a gear shift knob that was not mounted straight, it was twisted 45 degrees to the bottom right so was angled with top at 11h00 and bottom at 16h00. I used to get 5th instead of 3rd many a time whilst learning. He thankfully upgraded to a 3.0S Cortina after that.
