Guys sorry for the incorrect facts and Thanks for correcting the facts Trompie. I always thought Sasol invented fuel from coal, maybe they can be credited with perfecting it for mass production then? Regarding the warheads I know there was a lot of assitance from outside countries but the point I was trying to make is that South Africa seemed to be alot more industrial and developed back then. Development of ports, rail, powerstations, general infrastructure, even shipbuilding. Over the years we have maintained these things with minimal developments. The past few weeks the rand has been trading around R18 to the us$. That is just rediculous. Sooner or later further development of our industries will be a necessity rather than an option. I dont fully undertand how the world economy works and where money actually comes from, money was previously backed up by precious materials, now its just data on a computer and probably easily manipulated by leading world goverments/people in power, meaning that cash can be removed and added to an economy at any time? which in turn affects the trade in the economy which then could strengthen or weaken various world currencies which affects our buying power and quality of life. So wouldnt a.single world currency remove some of these areas that are easily manipulated? it would definitely give us equal buying power with the rest of the world, ofcourse it wont make the world perfect. But yes, on topic of if there is opportunity right now, defnitly.
