"secure code encrypted ET Blue remotes" - hahahahaha. Yeah, no, the Keeloq rolling code has been hacked for ages. There are 2 versions of keeloq, old and new. Hold down each key on the remote for +-20 seconds to switch modes. Fast flashing will be new, solid will be "old". Paper on issues. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/220337111_Cryptanalysis_of_KeeLoq_code-hopping_using_a_Single_FPGA --- As for "reprogramming" there is no "reprogramming" - at least on the remotes (other than changing encryption type old/new). You do need to teach the gate the new remotes though - usually by changing a jumper on the transceiver on the gate, then pressing the new remote button on the new remote. ET Black are on 403mhz, ET Blue on 433mhz, both use rolling code though (and are equally insecure), unless there is an even older black i don't know about? --- I wouldn't really worry about the security of the keeloq remotes to be honest, nefarious people will just wait till someone opens the gate to go in / out and sneak in. One important thing to remember is that remotes are essentially dumb. You can program several things with a single remote. It doesn't care. This is useful if you have family, and want to setup a remote to work at various locations. Just program the gate at each location with the same remote. It will work. It doesn't screw anything up, or cause issues. The amount of times I've had to explain that to people though... Sheeesh. ----- EDIT - ok, there are actually some older non code hopping ones it seems, yeah, those are (even more) insecure, remove the transceiver for that from the gate (a few min with a screwdriver), and some pain getting new remotes to the tenants.
