Alrighty then! On my way home I popped at my daughter's place and put the REM DVD-A into their DVD player. The player is not DVD-A capable and I wanted to see what happens. The disk loaded and came up with an audio menu for stereo, 5.1 and DTS. Selected DTS and the sound was good. Got home and loaded the disk and the menus changed! In audio setup there where two selections, Enhanced Surround and enhanced stereo! Selected Enhanced Surround and started listening to Man on the Moon. Let me just state that I am not a huge REM fan, but I do like some of their songs - Man on the Moon, Everybody Hurts, Nightswimming, Daysleeper, etc. Wow, this DVD takes you much closer to the band than DVD-Video or CD could ever do! Every instrument can be heard, movement of fingers on the guitar strings is so real you can touch it! You are not placed in the band, but pretty close! I cannot really explain it, but it is an amazing experience. In clonclusion I feel this DVD-A is a must for REM fans and a worhtwhile purchase to experience this medium. Now, what will my next DVD-A purchase be!
