Thanks for the info on the Samsung. Which model do you have? Thanks for everyone's input and to quickly reply to some other responses: 1. On piracy - Piracy is not my intention but I would rather convert my DVD's to AVI's or MPG's and play them from a hard disk or a flash disk because I can scroll all the files and choose whatever I want to watch without having to change the DVD everytime. Will also eliminate scratching the DVD's when the kids watch. My video's from my video camera are in HD as well and why go to the additional expense of writing them to DVD when I can have "hundreds" on my flash disk or hard drive? A friend gave me 4x video's he shot on his camera which in total 5GB and are too large to fit on a single DVD5 but fit onto my 32GB Flash Disk (formatted NTFS of course). As someone mentioned as well is that legitimate paid downloads are are not in DVD format either. 2. Referring to reviews on Blu-ray players - No I am not but will have to look at some - just found info lacking i.e. USB port listed but not the readable formats etc. 3. AVSA referred my query to a freelance journalist and I have asked him to find out more for me as I am sure his contacts are better than mine. If he gives his permission I will copy & paste his response here as well.
