Dolby Atmos for the home theater is available in several variations. There is Dolby Digital Plus with Atmos, there is Dolby TrueHD with Atmos, and there is Dolby MAT with Atmos (like PCM). Apple TV 4K uses Dolby MAT for output. Many receivers will recognize that as PCM (with Atmos). I guess the Mibox 4kstick (i'm unfamiliar with this device) also uses Dolby MAT and therefore the Yamaha recognises the signal as PCM. If you want to read more, here is a useful link What is Dolby MAT? Everything You Need to Know! My questions are: - What is the Atmos content source i.e. is it Netflix, Prime, downloaded movies etc? - Assuming you use a 5.1.2 Atmos config, are you sure that the speaker cables are connected to the correct output terminals at the back of the amp (since rain sounds comes through the center channel)?
