I picked up the latest issue of Audio-Video (that SA'can mag), and in two separate articles by the same guy he mentions cable run-in. In the one review in particular he went at length, explaining how silver cables need a particularly long period of run-in before they will reach peak performance. Do you buy any of this? I think it's bull$h1t and only done to aid selling expensive "snake oil" cables. I think one's perception of the cable is likely to improve over time as one gets used to the new sound. I don't think I'll be buying any more issues of the abovementioned mag - seems to me most of the stuff in there is paid advertorials rather than real journalism. In fact, I'm thinking of writing them a letter but I doubt it will get published. Audioholics have a nice fat section on cables: http://www.audioholics.com/techtips/audioprinciples/cables.htm What are your thoughts? :)
