Heavy metal rock music used to smuggle my kop, but this takes the cake! How on earth he managed to follow his notes is beyond me, it's a complete bird's nest! A point comes to mind: You have a 5U4 rectifier valve as well as a bridge rectifier in the amp - you would normally use one or the other, not both. Is there a chart with colour-coding on the toroidal transformer, i.e. I would like to know what voltage the yellow wires carry. I imagine this amplifier is based on something the original builder found on the internet, such as this one: (Oops... wrong image! Will find it again) His existing schematic is very difficult to follow and not particularly complete either. My personal view is to probably strip the amplifier down and rebuild it completely, assuming the transformers are all in good order than to try figure out what was done originally. But once again, try get a 100w globe and wire it up in series with the AC mains but you will need to first find out why the fuse blew. Checking that black rectifier bridge is a good start. -F_D
