20K for the Rotel, I paid 9k I think, brand new, not even two years ago!! Wow, I got a deal. I think overpriced Hi-Fi has desensitised us to the value of what we are getting. The reality is that it is ALL exorbitantly priced, including the gear I own, and then those that are slightly less exorbitant are seen as good "value". In this sense, the Deviate is good value!! I do like this product and think the all in one solution (that seemigly sounds brilliant, as I have never heard one) is a great step forward, and the firmware updates etc make one feel somewhat future proof. Having all onboard def makes it a cheaper than buying other overpriced pre amps, power amps, dacs, phono stages etc of similar performance, I am talking new now not used!!. And it makes sense from that perspective, but bearing in mind, comparing it to as mentioned before, massively overprice gear. :sh1tstirrer: We laugh at 30K hand bags that by all reasonable accounts should be a few thousand if that. Hi-Fi exploits the same concept, it costs a lot factor, and therefore is prestigious to own. It not what drives me, or you for that matter, but it does drive the industry at large!! :winkwink: So if all bit off topic!! Rodney, I am certain your system is Brill, as when we first met over a Linn, your setup was mighty good, can imagine what it sounds like now. Would love to hear it one day :dop:
