Oradba, You have done well to share this here. My thoughts are with you. As a Christian, this is the one and only matter where I must, with respect, doubt the Bible. 1 Cor. 10:13 assures us that we will not be tested beyond our powers. Oh? As a lay counsellor (I have done the 'Lifeline' counselling course and was with them for a short while), this matter came one's way. As a SAP reservist I more than once had to deal with incidents where innocent young people ended their lives. I will not be graphic, just to say : It was not easy Neither wil I try to be wise here, except to say, you must now take time to mourn for your friend. Crass though it may sound, you can no longer help him. But you can help yourself, by not brooding for longer than necessary. He would not have wanted for this be dibilitating for you. Honour him by allowing the positive that was between you to prevail - and thus assure that he did not live in vain. Our thoughts are with you and his family.
