I have considered an integrated preamp but my only reservation was that i would end up with too much power amplification which I wouldn't be using. AS things stands the power amp section of the Onkyo is not utilised. I have a Rotel 870BX lying around as well! Hence I am inclined towards a DAC or Preamp.
