[QUOTE="ara, post: 63622, member: 1336"] So the noise stopped just as suddenly as it started. The next morning when I switched the amp on the clicking noise was gone. I ramped the volume up and down and there was no clicking noise. I now have another question on clipping and specifically the CA 840A clipping detection. When trying to see whether the noise is still I really turned up the amps volume to test (never need to go that high but I just wanted to see). When the volume was on -15 the amp warned about clipping. The amp is rated at: 120W RMS into 8 Ohms 200W RMS into 4 Ohms and the speakers (Quad 22L2) is rated at 150W and is 6 Ohms Is this amp to "small" for the speakers if you want to really put the volume up? What is causing the clipping warning as there is no sound distortion, popping noise or anything that you can hear? Just want to fully understand this as I don't use that high volume levels ever.
