[QUOTE="capetownwatches, post: 1143102, member: 19576"] Stefan mentions "high quality" products specifically, a term which historically has not been applied to many (most?) products of Chinese origin. This has changed to some degree, there is more good stuff coming out of China in response to demand, not just Western demand either. One could say that true "high quality" is by it's very nature rare, regardless of where it is manufactured. Not by design but much of my gear is made in China and it is certainly what I would describe as high quality. Cayin, Yulong and HiFiMan can absolutely compete with anything else globally. I've also had numerous Audio_gd gears, all of which have been ugly as sin but well made. Nothing broke. As always caveat emptor applies but I would no longer let a Made in China sticker put me off.
